Uncoated Double-Concave Lenses
These uncoated Double-Concave Lenses are manufactured using BK7 (N-BK7) compliant RoHS, which is probably the most commonly used optical glass for the production of high-quality optical components.
N-BK7 glass is almost the most economical material to choose when the additional advantages of ultraviolet fused quartz (high transmittance and lower coefficient of thermal expansion all the way up to the UV band) are not required.
Double-Concave Lenses are made of two concave surfaces with same radius, usually used in beam expansion applications, light projection, or focal length of expansion.
Tc---------- Center Thickness
Te---------- Edge Thickness
R1---------- Radius
Dia---------- Diameter
BFL ---------- Back Focal Length
EFL ---------- Effective Focal Length
H'-------------- Principal Point

Design Wavelength | 587.6nm |
Focal Length Tolerance | ±2% |
Diameter Tolerance | +0.0/-0.1mm |
Surface Quality | 40/20-60/40 |
The focal length of the Double-concave lens is negative, which is the best choice for diverging convergent beam.
Similar to Plano-concave lenses, Double-concave lenses can spread a parallel beam to the virtual focus, as in a Galilean beam expander.
N-BK7 Double-Concave Lenses can also be coated with AR Coating
- -A: AR@400-700nm,
- -B: AR@650-1050nm,
- -C: AR@1000-1650nm,
anti-reflection coating can reduce the reflectivity of each surface of the lens.
