Properties of Optical Quartz Glass
Quartz glass has low coefficient of thermal expansion, high heat resistance, good chemical stability, excellent electrical insulation, low and stable ultrasonic delay performance, high light transmittance in UV-VIS-NIR spectrum performance, and has higher mechanical properties than ordinary glass.
Quartz glass is considered acid material, in addition to hydrofluoric acid and hot phosphoric acid, it is inert to any other acid, which determines is is a good acid-resistant material. At room temperature, the corrosion degree of alkali and salt to quartz glass is also small, so it is also possible to use quartz glass in these reagents.
Quartz glass has a high dielectric strength and low conductivity, even at high temperature, high pressure and high frequency, it can still maintain a high dielectric strength and electrical resistance, and there is almost no dielectric loss in the applied frequency band, because quartz glass is an excellent high temperature dielectric insulation material
The optical properties of quartz glass are unique, which can pass through the 185-3500nm, and it is the priority of all UV-transmitting materials. Because the outstanding physical properties of quartz glass, and the bubble, the streak, the uniformity, the birefringence can be comparable to the general optical glass, so it is an essential optical material for working in a variety of harsh occasions with high stability optical system.
